How God Guides You When You Cannot See Tomorrow - Pastor George Izunwa

LORD, ORDER MY STEPS: How God Guides You When You Cannot See Tomorrow

The Mystery of Divine Guidance, Ordered Steps, and Destiny Preservation

Have you ever stood at a crossroads in life and wondered:

  • What does God want me to do next?

  • How do I know God's will for my life?

  • What if I make the wrong decision?

  • What happens when I cannot hear God's voice clearly?

These are questions every believer asks at some point.

The truth is that life is full of uncertainty. Careers change. Relationships shift. Opportunities appear and disappear. Doors open and close. Yet, amid all this uncertainty, God has given His children a covenant that guarantees they do not have to wander through life blindly.

That covenant is called Ordered Steps.

Why Seeing the Future Matters

Destiny is about two things:

Advancement and Advantage.

Anything that advances your life and gives you godly advantage is connected to your destiny.

One of the greatest advantages a believer can possess is divine guidance.

The further you can see, the faster you can move.

The clearer you can see, the fewer mistakes you make.

Many people who broke through early in life did so because they saw opportunities, dangers, and divine directions before others did.

But here is the good news:

Even when you cannot see tomorrow, God already does.

Tomorrow may be a mystery to man, but tomorrow is God's yesterday.

He has already been where you are trying to go.

Every Believer Is Entitled to Divine Guidance

The Bible says:

"I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye." (Psalm 32:8)

God never intended for His children to live by chance.

As believers, we are not supposed to stumble through life hoping things work out.

We are entitled to:

  • Divine direction

  • Spiritual discernment

  • Heavenly guidance

  • Supernatural wisdom

  • Ordered steps

Jesus said:

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." (John 10:27)

This means that every believer can be led by God.

What Happens When You Cannot Hear God's Voice?

Many Christians panic when they feel they cannot hear God clearly.

But God has made provision for those moments.

Even when you cannot hear His voice, God can still guide your steps.

Isaiah 42:16 says:

"And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not."

Notice that God did not say He would only guide those who can see.

He promised to lead even the blind.

This means that divine guidance is not dependent solely on your spiritual sensitivity.

It is also dependent on God's covenant of preservation.

You may not know where you are going.

But God does.

You may not understand the path.

But God does.

And if you keep your hand in His hand, you will arrive safely.

The Power of Ordered Steps

The Bible declares:

"The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord." (Psalm 37:23)

Ordered steps simply mean God arranging your life in such a way that you end up exactly where He wants you to be.

It is God placing you:

  • At the right place

  • At the right time

  • With the right people

  • For the right opportunities

Ordered steps can look like:

  • A delay that protects you

  • A closed door that saves you

  • A relationship ending before disaster comes

  • A missed opportunity that prevents future pain

  • An unexpected detour that leads to destiny

Sometimes what feels like rejection is actually divine redirection.

Not Every Negative Experience Is a Bad Thing

One of the greatest mistakes believers make is assuming every setback is an attack.

Sometimes what appears to be a fall is actually divine preservation.

Joseph was betrayed by his brothers.

Yet that betrayal positioned him for the palace.

What looked like disaster became destiny.

God often uses:

  • Delays

  • Disappointments

  • Rejections

  • Detours

  • Unexpected changes

to move us toward His ultimate plan.

What appears negative today may become the testimony you celebrate tomorrow.

The Inner GPS God Put Inside You

God created man as a spirit.

Inside every human spirit are divine faculties that help us navigate life:

1. Intuition

The ability to know beyond natural senses.

2. Inspiration

Divine motivation and supernatural ideas.

3. Conscience

God's internal warning system.

When you become born again and connect with the Holy Spirit, these faculties become sharper.

Prayer sharpens them.

Worship sharpens them.

Fasting sharpens them.

The Word of God sharpens them.

This is why believers who consistently spend time with God tend to make wiser decisions.

Five Keys to Walking in Ordered Steps

1. Make God's Presence Your Inner Guide

Spend time daily in prayer, worship, and the Word.

The presence of God creates spiritual sensitivity.

The more time you spend with God, the easier it becomes to recognize His leading.

2. Resist Destiny Sabotage

Not every voice comes from God.

Not every dream is divine.

Not every opportunity is heaven-sent.

Believers must test every voice, every impression, and every direction against Scripture and spiritual wisdom.

A wrong voice can cost years of destiny.

3. Keep Trusting When It Looks Like You Fell

Many people abandon God's plan too early.

The moment things become difficult, they assume they missed God.

But faith means trusting God even when circumstances appear confusing.

The path may look dark.

The journey may feel slow.

But if God sent you, stay the course.

4. Seek Godly Counsel

Proverbs 15:22 says:

"Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established."

One conversation with the right mentor can save years of mistakes.

Wise people seek counsel.

Proud people seek confirmation.

There is a difference.

5. Live by Principles

Many tragedies are avoided through simple obedience.

God's principles protect us.

Who you follow matters.

Where you go matters.

What you permit matters.

A principled life is a protected life.

The Secret of Destiny Success: Stay

One of the most powerful lessons in the journey of destiny is this:

Stay.

Stay faithful.

Stay obedient.

Stay consistent.

Stay in God's will.

Isaiah 50:10 gives a remarkable instruction:

Even the person who fears God, obeys God, and yet seems to be walking in darkness is told to trust in the Lord.

Not quit.

Not complain.

Not run around in panic.

Trust.

And stay.

Many people quit just before their breakthrough.

Many abandon the process moments before the promise manifests.

But those who remain planted eventually see God's faithfulness.

You Will Not Miss Your Way

Perhaps you are facing major decisions right now.

Maybe you are:

  • Choosing a career

  • Starting a business

  • Preparing for marriage

  • Seeking direction

  • Waiting on God for answers

This message is a reminder that your future is not left to chance.

God is still guiding.

God is still speaking.

God is still ordering steps.

And even when you cannot see tomorrow, the One who created tomorrow is holding your hand.

The promise remains:

"I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not."

You may not understand every turn.

You may not know every detail.

But if you walk with God, trust His leading, seek wise counsel, and remain faithful, you will arrive at the destination He has prepared for you.

Your story is not ending in confusion.

Your story is ending in purpose.

Prayer

Father, order my steps.

Lead me where I cannot see.

Guide me where I cannot discern.

Protect me from wrong decisions, wrong relationships, wrong opportunities, and wrong directions.

Let Your presence go before me.

Let Your wisdom guide me.

And let my life fulfill every purpose You have ordained for me.

In Jesus' name, Amen.
